Paddle Canada is organizing and administering THE WATERWALKER 2008 FILM FESTIVAL. Following is a little history and information about Paddle Canada and then all the info about THE WATERWALKER FILM FESTIVAL .

PADDLE CANADA (formerly the Canadian Recreational Canoeing Association) was conceived in 1971 as a result of the perceived need that recreational paddling enthusiasts from across Canada required a national body to co-ordinate the efforts of those involved in non-competitive canoeing and kayaking. Today, the Association acts as the national office for ten provincial and three territorial associations, as well as 2.3 million recreational paddlers.
PADDLE CANADA’S MISSION:
To promote all forms of recreational paddling to Canadians of diverse abilities, culture or age, to advocate for a healthy natural environment, and to develop an appreciation for the canoe and the kayak in our Canadian heritage.

Paddle Canada is proud to present the 2008 Waterwalker Film Festival – a tribute to the late Bill Mason, the great canoeist, conservationist and filmmaker who inspired so many of us to enjoy paddling and Canada’s waterways. Our goal for the Festival is to raise public awareness and support for paddling and the environment by celebrating films on canoeing and kayaking and the preservation and protection of our environment.
The 2008 festival showcases exciting action, adventure and environmental films from around the world. This year’s festival features films that push the creative edge in the paddling film genre.
Follow the adventures of two kayakers as they travel the rivers of the Americas on the longest 100% petroleum-free road trip in the world. Canoe Temagami and visit some of Ontario’s last remaining old growth forests. Paddle a paradise on earth in a South Pacific archipelago and plunge down one of the highest waterfalls ever dropped with a young kayaker from Canmore, Alberta.
The festival tours throughout Canada and the US.
